Micro-Influencer
A creator with roughly 10,000–100,000 followers on the platform you are buying — a budget category, not a law. Some 2025 reports cut the band at 50K.
Influencer Marketing Hub’s 2025 Instagram census treats “micro” as 10K–50K and puts a large share of remaining creators in nano. Most brand briefs and marketplaces still say 10K–100K. Agree the range in the brief. A 70K account with a real niche and a 4% Reel rate is a micro for your purposes.
What you are buying is usually a named audience, comments that are questions, and a price that lets you hire a set of creators instead of one celebrity. Later’s 2025 survey found 73% of brands prefer micro and mid-tier for that engagement-to-cost reason.
Instagram micro engagement in 2025–2026 tier tables is typically about 1.5–5% depending on format — not the 3–8% still copied from older posts. Compare inside the same niche and format. Full definition and a worked budget: the micro-influencer guide.
